Google 2FA Instructions

 1. Click  in the upper right corner and choose "Manage your Google Account.


2. Click on Security.

3. Under 2-step verification, click on the arrow to turn it on.

4. Click on Get Started.

5. Enter your Google password for verification.

6. You can use your phone as a verification method. If you do not want to use your phone, choose "Show more options."

7. When you click on "Show more options", there are 2 options. They are using a physical security key that you plug into your computer's USB port or use Text message or voice call. If you would like to use a security key instead of your phone, please contact the technology department.

8. Add a backup option. You can use your phone for a text message or a phone call. If you don't want to use your phone, click on "Use another backup option."

9. Print or download your backup codes. Then click Next.
10. Confirm that it is setup by entering the verification code. Click Next.
11. 2-Step verification is ON. There is a button to turn it off, but it will be disabled once it is enforced.

12. You can add second steps for verification, such as backup codes, authenticator app or a security key. I use the authenticator app.

13. To use backup codes, click on Get backup codes.

14. If you choose the authenticator app, it will ask you if your phone is Android or an iPhone. Choose one and click on next.


15. You can find the app in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. A QR code is generated to take you to the app download.
